Golden Maple Keirokai Reception 2026: Honouring Tradition, Celebrating Community

An evening of Japanese culture, music, cuisine, and community awaits at the Golden Maple Keirokai Reception 2026.

Hosted in partnership by Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden and the Nikkei Cultural Society of Lethbridge and Area, this special annual celebration brings people together to recognize and honour the contributions of our senior community while celebrating the traditions that connect generations.

Whether Keirokai is a long-standing tradition for you or you’re discovering it for the first time, this is an opportunity to share an evening of gratitude, friendship, and Japanese culture with family, friends, and community members.

An Evening to Remember

Guests will enjoy an elegant Japanese-inspired dinner reception, a special guest speaker, and beautiful live music featuring the traditional koto alongside guitar.

The evening’s featured performers, Meimei Chen and Feifei Du, will showcase the unique beauty of koto and guitar. Their performance is sponsored by Sake Gami Corp.

Most importantly, the reception provides an opportunity to learn more about the meaning of Keirokai—a Japanese tradition centred on expressing gratitude and appreciation for our elders.
