Kwaidan Night: Where Old Stories Still Whisper

Kwaidan Night: Where Old Stories Still Whisper
This Halloween, step into the mysterious world of Japanese folklore as Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, in partnership with New West Theatre, presents Kwaidan Night at the Bunka Centre.
Experience four haunting tales inspired by the works of Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo), whose celebrated 1904 collection Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things introduced generations of readers around the world to Japan’s supernatural legends, ghosts and spirits.
Through theatrical storytelling, costumes, lighting and ghostly sounds, these legendary tales will come to life for a captivating Halloween experience:
MUJINA (むじな)
YUKI-ONNA (雪女)
JIKININKI (人食鬼)
MIMI-NASHI HŌICHI (耳なし芳一)
Join us on Halloween night and discover the stories that crossed the sea — and still whisper today.
