Garden Donations

A not-for-profit charitable organization operates the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. The Lethbridge and District Japanese Garden Board governs the Society and hosts an annual AGM. If you become a member, you can actively participate in our Society.

The Garden has excellent historical, horticultural, and cultural significance to Lethbridge and the surrounding district. It is essential to continue educating our guests on the diversity in Southern Alberta, and we do this through presentations, school tours, events, and festivals. Your donations to the Garden will help support staff and volunteers to organize programs and events and ensure our Garden’s future growth.

We enjoy incorporating art, music, and other artists’ talents to the Garden and Lethbridge. This includes supporting other non-profit organizations specializing in unique skills and talents, such as taiko drumming. This provides an opportunity for those who want to show their love for Canada and Japan in many ways. One of our Garden team members would be happy to help you develop a budget, plan, and shared vision for your participation in our city’s treasured Japanese Garden.

Winter Light Festival Sponsorships

Our most popular event of the year! The famous annual Winter Light Festival runs from December until the end of February. There were over 30,000 guests from all over Canada and the world in attendance in 2022/2023!

With your sponsorship, we can continue to enhance our programming and events. Help us continue to spread awareness of the Garden and its historic landscape. We continue to be inspired by the beauty of our diverse community and appreciate all support throughout each season!

With your donation of $1,000: you can sponsor one of these important Winter Light Festival features:

Focal Points ($2500)

With your donation of $2,500: you can sponsor one of these important Winter Light Festival features:

As a thank you, you will also receive 15 exclusive opening night tickets, and 20 courtesy passes to enter the Winter Light Festival throughout the season.

Garden Showcase ($5000)

With your donation of $5,000: you can sponsor one of these important Winter Light Festival features:

As a thank you, you will also receive 20 exclusive opening night tickets, and 50 courtesy passes to enter the Winter Light Festival throughout the season.

Lovely! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour by Chris. He is very knowledgeable and engaging with real life experience. The garden was spectacular. We learned interesting facts. Good history lessons as well.
