Enjoy a selection of tasty snacks at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden with Summer Zensai [Appetizer] Packages! These charcuterie-style plates are prepared by Mocha Cabana featuring locally sourced products for you to enjoy while visiting the Garden. 

Each package is $25 and includes an individual charcuterie-style box, one drink per person (water, coffee, tea, or an alcoholic beverage of your choice for those 18+) and admission to Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. Additional drinks can be purchased during your visit, choose from a selection of Japanese beer and sake!

Guests must purchase their Zensai by 4PM the previous day and can be enjoyed inside the garden or taken to go.

    Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
    At this time we only offer the menu as described and cannot accommodate other dietary needs. 

    How many people does each picnic basket feed?
    Our Summer Zensai packages are individually packed for one person per ticket. 

    Are there designated picnic areas in the garden?
    Our Zensai packages can be enjoyed on the many benches throughout the garden, inside our azumaya (gazebo-like structure), or on the grass in our Prairie Garden. 

    Can we bring our own food/drinks?
    Outside food and drink is not allowed at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. Coffee, tea, and water as well as a selection of Japanese beer and sake will be available to purchase at the garden. Guests must be 18+ with valid ID to purchase alcoholic beverages. 

    Is the garden wheelchair accessible?
    Yes! The entire garden is wheelchair accessible and our Visitors Centre has two handicapped stalls. Our staff would be happy to assist you in any way possible to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.

    Are there bathrooms inside the garden?
    Yes, we have washrooms in our Bunka Centre, Yanoshita Centre year round and inside our tea pavilion (summer access only). 

    Can I bring my dog to the picnic?
    Nikka Yuko only allows certified service animals in the garden at this time. 

    What should I bring?
    There are many sitting areas throughout the garden, your host or hostess will guide you to available areas. Please dress for the weather and bring bug spray and sunscreen. You may wish to bring a light jacket if the temperature cools off in the evening.
