Hydrangeas Presentation by Lyndon Penner, Tea Ceremony and Taiko Drumming
Sunday, July 29, 2018
Time(s): 10:00AM - 7:30PM
Welcome back Lyndon Penner our Horticulturalist to Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. This presentation will focus on......
Hydrangeas- Called ajisai in Japan, hydrangeas
are currently the number one selling shrub in North America. These are plants
that like a sheltered, moist location but don't we live in a dry, windy
climate? We've prepared a very informative and entertaining presentation for
you detailing which hydrangeas you should be considering for your Alberta
garden and where you should be planting them! Learn how the Japanese have long
regarded them as a symbol of summer and have honoured them in their art,
literature, and poetry. Hydrangeas are becoming much more widely known and new
cultivars are appearing every year- want to find out which ones will perform
well for you and survive our tough winters? If so, you'll not want to miss this
Come after work and sit in our Pavilion and listen to Lyndon as he presents into the evening.
