Winter Lights Festival - Featuring the Lethbridge Public Library Bookmobile

Saturday, December 30, 2017

Time(s): 6:00 pm to 9:30pm

Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden is thrilled to be teaming up with the Lethbridge Public Library and the Bookmobile. During your visit to view the lights you can pickup a book to get comfy with this winter. For this Library themed night we will be hosting Stories with Tad and Tomo. Our master storyteller, Tad Mitsui, is back with his good friend Tomo the Cat to share Japanese folktales and lore. These 20 minute stories will take place at; 6:00PM, 7:00PM & 8:00PM in the Bookmobile. Enjoy access to Bookmobile from 6:00PM to 8:30PM at the Henderson Lake parking lot directly beside the main footpath to the Japanese Garden.

And now more on the Winter Lights Festival...

The Winter Lights Festival is back to bring light and joy to Southern Alberta through the darkest months! Join us for opening night and experience the illumination of over 100,000+ lights decorating the beautiful Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. Last year the festival became Lethbridge's newest winter tradition and Nikka Yuko is thrilled to be hosting this festival again from December 1st until February 3rd.

Stay warm in 4 Seasons Home Comfort heating lounge. Shop for unique gift items at the Visitor’s Centre Gift Shop. Enjoy a seasonal treat at the Sugar Shack Concession including the Garden's signature blend of coffees and teas from Cupper's Coffee & Tea. All this and much more at this year's Winter Lights Festival.

Admission:

Regular admission: $6

Family or Group of Five: $25

Purchase online through the Enmax Centre: http://www.enmaxcentre.ca/

Please be advised:

Please note the Winter Lights will run at their regular time, 6:30PM to 9:30PM. Guest are invited to visit the LPL Bookmobile while waiting for Garden to open.

If the temperature is below -25 degrees Celsius the festival will be cancelled on that day. You can stay up to date with the Garden by following
https://www.facebook.com/nikkayuko/ or https://twitter.com/NikkaYuko   or contact the Garden directly at 403 328-3511 with any questions or concerns.

The Garden is particularly fragile during the winter months because branches can break easily in the cold temperature. The Garden's maintenance staff works incredibly hard on these living pieces of art. We ask that all guests stay to paths and designated areas, and to not touch or pull on vegetation.

The Garden allows guests to bring hot beverages and concession treats into the Garden during the festival. However, we sincerely ask that guests do not bring beverages or snacks onto the Pavilion deck because the wood is susceptible to stains from even small spills.

Please be courteous so that all guests may enjoy the Garden and the lights. Please no running on paths and be mindful of blocking paths and areas.

Have a happy and joyful season. Arigato gozaimasu for supporting Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden & The Winter Lights Festiv
