Nikka Yuko marks the changing of the seasons with the Japanese tradition of Setsubun. Beans will be thrown at the evil spirits, the oni, and guests are invited to yell “Oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi”, which translates demons out, good luck in.

The garden will be open from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm to view the lights.

Single admission to the Winter Lights Festival is $7.50. But, for the real festival experience check out our new Tomodachi (friendship) and Kazoku (family) packages, which include hot beverages and matcha cookies at great savings.

Guests can now buzz through the lineups by purchasing an online ticket that is valid on any of the nights the garden is open for the Winter Lights Festival.

Please note, individual nights of the Winter Lights Festival may be cancelled due to severe cold, snow, or wind. Please check the garden homepage for any cancellation notification. Guests are also welcome to call the garden at 403 328-3511.
