Did you know there was a rabbit on the moon? Many cultures around the world have stories about the Moon Rabbit, who can be seen in the patterns on the moon pounding in a pestle. In Japan the Moon Rabbit is known as "Tsuki no Usagi" and it's believed that he is pounding mochi or rice cakes. How did he get there?

Join us for stories with Tad Mitsui and Tomo as he explores the Japanese folk story of the Moon Rabbit. Tad & Tomo will be telling stories in the garden Friday afternoon and twice on Saturday. Our garden will be open until 9PM on Saturday for viewing the full moon.

Sheila McHugh will also be providing a special tea ceremony this evening from 7-9PM.
